At River Church, we believe in and are passionate about offering our abilities, resources, and time to meet the needs of others. It's one of our core values. Throughout all of 2012, we are going to take Serving Others to the next level! Instead of gathering as we normally do, we will be going out in teams of people to love and serve the city of Charleston. We will meet at OGECS at 10:30, get charged up for that day's projects, pray and then go serve. RiverKids (birth - 5th grade) will go on as normal at OGECS, and will end at 1pm sharp. FEBRUARY PROJECTS
Water Missions
Local non-profit who exists to provide safe drinking water around the globe to those who don't have it. They need a ton of help to get ready for their upcoming Walk for Water, which is a HUGE fundraiser locally that helps provide safe water around the globe. watermissions.org/walk
CHEP
Local non-profit transitional housing organization for veterans who are homeless. Our mission here is to go love on and hang out with the vets, while serving them a meal, getting to know the 36 vets as individuals, and meeting some needs of the organization through organizing/cleanup.
HaveNeed
HaveNeed is all about connecting people who have needs with those who can meet those needs. This project is all about serving, meeting needs, building relationships, and sharing the good news of Jesus. There is much to do here to help them as they get this off the ground.
Palms
This apartment complex is within walking distance to OGECS. This is a strategic partnership where we have done mission projects in the past, moved a Sunday Gathering here, and hosted cookouts. We will be doing beautification, cleanup, maintenance type projects. Our goal, here, is to continue building this great relationship through serving them.
